Notes on Skyrim So Far:
- It's so pretty! But actually there is no game setting I hate more than the Frozen North. Mostly because of the inevitable mountains. Skyrim basically IS mountains and guys, I am so fucking tired of watching myself slo-mo fall to my horrible death. Also, it really irritates me when I kill something and it falls off the mountain before I can loot the corpse.
- I really want a map legend. I accidentally acquired a horse (possibly I stole it? IDK) and decided to discover as many locations as I had patience for. What the fuck is the tree-like icon? It's on Evergreen Grove and Greenspring Hollow. Or the weird crossed whatevers on Mara's Eye Pond and Autumnshade Clearing. And it would have been good to know the tusk-y thing meant "warning: giant camp" before I wandered into one and had to run away very quickly.
- Sometimes it is really surprising what DOESN'T count as stealing. I am pretty sure it's a bug? But I took probably 80% of the visible merchandise in Arcadia's Cauldron without "stealing" anything, and I found a hunter's camp way up north where everything was free for the taking, including the aforementioned random horse.
- I could not give less of a fuck about this civil war thing. The High King is elected, so who's-his-face killing the king to take his place doesn't actually make sense to me. Also, the Way of the Voice is dumb. "The only real use for Shouting is worship of the gods", my ass. The only real use for Shouting is KILLING FUCKING DRAGONS. At least that is what your tablets led me to believe, before you went and got all Ancient Wisdom on me.
- Pinewatch or whatever was an awesome dungeon (so many shinies!), but upon exiting back to the world, everything went to hell very very quickly. Random fugitive accosts and overencumbers me and then I'm attacked by a wolf, a mudcrab, and a dragon ALL AT ONCE. WHAT THE FUCK. I WAS JUST CATCHING BUTTERFLIES IN THE YARD AND THEN EVERYTHING STARTED TRYING TO EAT ME.
- Oh my god, I hate killing dragons. The first one tricked me! It wasn't that hard! And then I started getting dragon-ambushed and dying nearly every time. They won't stay in range!
- Learning enchanting is fucking expensive now. Also, I think I broke my conjuring somehow; the spells worked four or five times while I was practicing and now they won't at all (Summon Familiar and Summon Flame Atronach, to be specific). Also, I am totally cranky that I can't level up my destruction spells by attacking summoned creatures.
