Man, sometimes you just have to look at yourself and say I am kind of a douchebag about vegetarianism...and I'm sort of okay with that!

Because to me, it is both funny and accurate when I respond to a Very Earnest and Sincere Vegetarian's I just can't eat something that used to be a living, feeling creature with my I could never give up eating chicken because a) it is delicious and b) I have met chickens and they are horrible creatures who deserve to die.

Basically, I wouldn't want to make light of you as a person, but when it comes to your choices, especially choices you try to persuade others to make with guilt-tripping, sweeping generalisations, and ridiculously over-the-top analogies? Fair game.

Hahahaha, love it. They're stupid and mean and ugly and they smell HORRIBLE; we actually sell baby chicks (and geese, and ducks, and guineas) at the store where I work and oh, I hate them so, THE INCESSANT PEEPING AND THE SMELL OF SLOWLY BAKING CHICKEN POOP/HOT DEATH FROM FRYING CHICKEN CORPSES.

I cannot lie, I would, too. Because what does it taste like? But I'd be afraid to eat anyone that died of "natural" causes and I wouldn't want to murder someone for food, because what if that someone was going to do something amazing?

IDK, I had a convo with a friend where we discussed whether the institutionalised cannibalism of death row inmates would be bad (killing people and benefiting in any personal way, even by way of sustenance, is generally considered much worse than killing someone for the benefit of society and not self) or awesome (best deterrent ever, the end).

When we had pet chickens, we had three of them. And the first one got eaten by a neighborhood dog when they were just barely grown up, and we were all super super sad. Then a year or so later, the second one got eaten by a neighborhood dog, and we were all "Oh, thank fucking god, one more left, please get eaten quickly."

It died of old age, the fucker. >:( That was, like, a MILLION years of getting pecked and getting chased and just all around evilness because we couldn't kill it because it was my sister's pet.
