I Am So Uncomfortable Right Now
So, yeah. A few months ago, I had the bright idea of maybe making a list of stories that I wouldn't normally read, for one reason or another. Now I have several stories that would go on such a list and I've therefore been trying to pin down what, exactly, is outside my comfort zone.
I've made some discoveries.
1) Apparently, I find Tony/Jen (NCIS) and CJ/Donna (West Wing) kinda hot, I've just never read them. 2) A lot of pairings I won't read are more for reasons of disinterest than discomfort. 3) I may say I don't have OTPs, but yeah, that's kind of a lie. I really don't want to read Clark/not!Lex, for one. 4) On general themes (as opposed to specific pairings), I could only come up with five things outside my comfort zone: scat-play, watersports, chan, crossgen, and bestiality. 5) That means that Harry/Ginny squicks me more than necrophilia. Yeah, surprised me, too.
And now I'm off to read Harry/Snape. God help me.
