Holy the Crap! And Also, DAMMIT

So yeah, this has not been a middle-ground couple of days. Also, "holy the crap" appears to have supplanted phrases involving "rock" as my exclamation of awesomeness.

Holy the Crap! - Birthday was Saturday and HOMG, BOOKS. How do people live without them? Bought myself five; have a whole post percolating about their various good and bad points, because I enjoy sharing. Jesus crap, people, I kind of want to have Jim Butcher's babies.

DAMMIT - Spent my nineteenth totally alone. Also, my father apparently forgot about it completely until Richard's b-day Monday. And Stephen Harper's newest was totally not worth the ten bucks.

Holy the Crap! - Have my car again and oh, how I love it. My beautiful, beautiful Oldsmobile Intrigue. I don't care that you are dusty and battered, darling, you are home and that is all that matters to me.

DAMMIT - The air conditioner continues to be broken and it is an Oklahoma summer. Drove back to campus from the bookstore a couple days ago and a bank informed me that it was 103 degrees. Also? While I usually adore having the luxury model (sunroof!), am currently not enjoying the leather seats.

Holy the Crap! - Was able to buy groceries and mmmmm, apples. And baked potatoes. And cereal. Oh, food, I love you like a small child loves inane cartoons. Shut up, Alyssa.

DAMMIT - Yeah. You know that fear I had, that I would be left the only one in the building, forgotten and alone? Not looking so crazy now, considering that's what actually happened. Everybody else got moved to the official summer housing yesterday.

Holy the Crap! - Popslash kick and dude, so much awesomeness. Read MPREG for the first time (the story, not the genre) and YAY. Also read Talliswood on Sunday night and wow, so long. And hey, actually liked the Chris/Lance in that story more than the Justin/JC, which is new for me. But mostly, JuC, yay!

DAMMIT - Thought I'd like to rec The Coming Out Fic and discovered that the whole website's gone and the author's lj appears empty. Which sucks ass, because while that wasn't the first popslash story I ever read, it was the first one that ever filled me with great fannish love, you know? Where you write the author that piece of crazy feedback you're too embarrassed to send, because you don't want to be creepy and excessive, but at the same time, you're utterly incapable of toning it down, because it was just that awesome? Still have the fic saved, though, so it doesn't suck as much as it could've.

Holy the Crap! - Worked on the rec sets for the first time in a while and I'm really kind of pleased with the story I picked for the Fetish prompt. Okay, I'm really kind of pleased with a lot of the stories I picked, because matching these prompts with stories is sometimes ridiculously fun. Really want an mpreg prompt; am nowhere near crazy enough to design another table. Yet. Also, it feels that would be kind of discriminatory, because how often do you see het mpreg? But that's mostly me being crazy. Although wow, now I'm thinking about how many prompts would be impossible to fulfill if you're a strictly gen-reader.

DAMMIT - Speaking of gen, am discouraged about the SGA-gen list. It's feels like I'm reccing things everybody's already read, which is depressing.

Holy the Crap! - Six people who are neither me nor Laura have friended [livejournal.com profile] list50!

DAMMIT - Still just my thirteen lists.

Holy the Crap! - Found my class pendant! Go, me!

DAMMIT - How did I forget how much wearing cuff bracelets sucks in the summer? It's a solid piece of metal, wrapped around my wrist. Also, the thing gave me a creepy unhealing wound, although hey! It's no longer blackened and super-creepy. Stupid House, making me unable to look at blackened flesh without the word "necrosis" starting an infinite loop through my brain.

Holy the Crap! - My flist is the best thing ever and I love everybody on it. You are guys are awesome beyond the telling, in so many ways. Y'all are rock stars, is what I'm saying. Especially [livejournal.com profile] hth_the_first, who just posted 32,000+ words of Rodney/Ronon.

*head spins around and around* Wow. Um, Yay? ;)) think there's more good in there than not, what with car and food and friends and books and things.

Happy belated birthday, doll!! <3 I'm sorry you spent it on your own - mine is the day after christmas and everyone tends to forget except my family... who then do weird stuff like put off the partying (presents yes, though) because it's on the heels of christmas, but then get all hurt if I say I don't want to spend it with them (and then never do the make up partying). :| Last year my mom actually made me cake, though, so that was awesome. :D

That post was halfway decent.
