So, I Saw "Knight and Day"...

Who's working on the Kink Bingo fic for sleepy/unconscious? Because Roy/June would be AWESOME for that.

Also, you should probably skip this if you have issues with anything that could be covered by sleepy/unconscious, including lack of prior consent.

Basically, there's some stuff that could be read as totally skeevy, but as they ride off into the sunset together, I am choosing to view it as "they share a kink for this".

So! Our POV character gets knocked out five times in this film. Once, June gets knocked out by bad guys*, which doesn't count for my kink purposes. The rest is all between our lead, June Havens (Cameron Diaz), and her love interest, Roy Miller (Tom Cruise).

1. Roy kills everyone on his and June's plane, because it was populated by agents trying to kill him. He then crashlands the plane, and gives her drugged tequila. She wakes up at home in bed, fully dressed, pills and water by the bed, and almost immediately sees a note: "It was nice meeting you, June. Roy." There are other notes, including "Eat a good breakfast" on a plate he's laid out and garnished for her (he also made her an omelette, it's kind of adorable). He knocks her out, transports her, and then makes sure she's cared for and remembers what happened.

2. June has, at this point, chosen to go on the run with him instead of taking her chances alone at home. During a firefight in a warehouse, she freaks out so he persuades her to drink an antidote for a gas the villains are going to use on them...except not really, it's the same stuff that knocked her out before. They escape with June unconscious, and she surfaces a few times, always to reassurance from Roy, as they continue to make for a safehouse. She finally wakes up on an island, wearing a bikini. She stalks over to Roy. "What am I wearing?" "A bikini. We're in the tropics, June." "How did I get in the bikini?" "I've been trained to disarm a bomb in pitch black with nothing but a safety pin and a Junior Mint; I think I can get you into a bikini without taking a look. [Pause] I'm not saying that's what I did..." She tries to punch him in the face, he blocks it, apologizes for the reflex, admits he deserves it, and tells her to go again. She storms off into the jungle instead.

Some stuff happens (she answers a call because it's her sister but it gets cut off almost immediately, she tries to kick Roy's ass, he admires her moves and shows her a new one, they roll around on the beach and are all set to make out) then...

3. Bad guys track them to the island and they have to escape. June sees the itty-bitty helicoptor and goes HELL NO. She says she can't and asks Roy to please knock her out, give her that drug again, she's not getting in that thing... Roy uses a pressure point in her shoulder to knock her outthis time ("You're grabbing my neck." "You asked me not to drug you.") and she wakes up on a train in Austria, again to a note (although she gets it stuck to her and doesn't actually see it, which becomes plot-significant).

Eventually we get to the "knocked out by bad guys" portion of events and that's soon followed by:

4. Roy's been shot and since this movie likes to follow the character least likely to know what's going on, he's now our POV character! He slips in and out before waking up in the hospital to his boss telling him she's sorry she trusted the wrong guy...and that June's gone home, they can never be together because he gave all that friends and family nonsense up to become an agent, and the Company's invested too much in him for him to give it up, so he'll be transferred to a secure facility tomorrow (there's an implication that he'll actually be killed, but you could read her as playing it straight). She leaves, a nurse comes in and gives him medicine to drink, he gets woozy...it's June! Temporarily faking his death and kidnapping him! It's his turn for the "occasional surfacing to reassurance" bit before he finally wakes up in a car in South America. "What am I wearing?" "Shorts." "How did I get in the shorts?" "I've been trained to [assemble something on a car, IDK, I was giggling]; I think I can get you in a pair of shorts without looking. [Smirk] I'm not saying that's what I did."

And they ride off into the sunset together and I'm totally going with "sometimes they have kinky sex and sometimes that kink involves unconsciousness".

*June engineers her kidnapping by an arms dealer (by claiming to have the quest object) because she realizes Roy faked his death and figures wherever the arms dealer is, Roy will be there trying to stop him from getting the quest object/inventor of the quest object. The arms dealer drugs her with a truth serum and she goes into a pretty adorable altered state (giddy, honest, lowered inhibitions) and shows complete trust in Roy both verbally ("It's crazy, that I feel so powerful and competent when I'm with him, but he just, he takes care of me.") and through action. I SHIP IT, Y'ALL.
