Tony Needs an Adult!
Sep. 29th, 2009 07:57 amWow. Just, wow. I never expected to read about Steve Rogers: Creepy Bad-Touch Creeper, but there you go.
There are things that aren't creepy in an established relationship, but become TOTALLY CREEPY when you're doing them with an unconscious friend. ( Cut for creepiness. )

Life would be much easier if other people weren't so inconveniently binary when it came to sex. Change into a different gender and suddenly no one knew what to do with you anymore.

Conjugate, one of those Steve/Tony big bangs I was talking about, so, y'know, Steve/Tony, Marvel-verse. Steve, Tony, Peter Parker, Luke Cage, Jessica Drew, and Logan accidentally get their powers swapped and it's awesome, because they totally have to keep superheroing while they're swapped. There's action and humor and angst and love, what else could you ask for? Have some quotes:
"I can't help feeling we should be keeping the Spider-Cap quieter."
"He's enjoying it so much, though. And I bet this guy's face will be a picture. Patriotic death from above!"
and
"I keep telling Steve he doesn't need to know every police officer in the city by name, but he won't listen."
"Aren't there forty thousand of them?"
"Well, he's got a good memory." Tony sighed. "I miss Extremis. I really did know all of them by name. And their birthdays and shoe size, too."
"You do know that's creepy, right?"
"You're part spider, how is that not creepy?"
"I can't help feeling we should be keeping the Spider-Cap quieter."

State of Me

In better news, my cat remains freaking adorable and clingy and so spoiled. Most of my time at home now is spent with a cat napping on my boobs. Earlier I was taking a bath and reading an old Hannah Howell when he decided to join me in the tub, although this time he actually dangled his tail and feet in the water, instead of curling up in the middle of my torso like usual and clawing the crap out of me when water dared to be wet.
I am actually thinking about driving to Duncan tomorrow for the "World's Biggest Garage Sale" - probably a misnomer, but I am in a garage sale mood after last Sunday, when I got a silver rune necklace at one for 10 cents, chain and all, plus a bunch of old Avon bottles, including one that looks like a mermaid (it is awesome, I totally want to fill it with glittery bath salts and just keep it on a shelf).
Fandom is still my happy place, though, so:
bandom_hc has hit a tipping point for me; I have now submitted too many prompts (38 - yes, I totally did have to make a list just to keep track of which ones I'd posted so far) to be embarrassed by the over-enthusiasm. All I can do now is shrug and blame the mod for making a challenge so very suited to all those stories I've been wanting people to write me for the last year and change. I have suggested threesomes 6 times so far (Brendon/Katy/Travis! Brendon/Pete/Ashlee! I never knew I wanted those!), and GSF thrice, plus the one with the space harem. Totally my favorites, though? The slightly retooled Brendon Urie: One Man Band and the one where a bunch of bandgirls get drunk and form the supergroup Haters to the Left, which they use to mock misogynist assholes.
And did y'all know there is a big bang for Tony Stark/Steve Rogers, aka Iron Man/Captain America, aka the OTP I accidentally caught from
elspethdixon's Resurrection, Reconstruction, and Redemption 'verse? Because I did, but I did not know it had gone live.

And the Word of the Day Is: Doomed
Jul. 17th, 2008 02:56 pmNot because I feel doomed - project is going surprisingly well! up to 50, 46, 47 - but because it is a fun word and I just saw it used a bunch of times.
I am torn. In updating the fandom masterlist, I'm going to have make a decision re: Tony-fic. Because. Okay, with DC comics? They just all go under DCU, because that's how I saw them listed where I found them. But with Marvel, I have pre-exiting categories for X-Men and Spiderman, and I now have fic for both Iron Man/Avengers and Iron Man (2008 movie). Do I make one big Marvel category and move stuff or do I make a couple new categories?
I dunno. The DCU stuff does feel like more of a cohesive whole then the Marvel; it's Batman/Superman/Justice League/Teen Titans, so each section overlaps two of the other three, while on the other side, I've got Avengers covering Iron Man and Spiderman and X-Men, but I went a lot of years enjoying the X-Men without ever hearing of the Avengers in a significant way.
But! I don't know how much people use the masterlist so it may not matter much either way.

My three lists are at 40, 38, and 35 right now, so go me. And I've got at least a hundred stories on deck, if I can just figure out where I want to/can use them. Sadly, the awesome BtVS/Avengers crossover will have to wait for another list as I am bound and determined to use it with Superhero.

Comics Canon Is the Good Crack
Jun. 16th, 2008 05:39 pmSo, I saw Iron Man and fell in LOVE. So I've been reading fic and learning canon from wikipedia/pimp posts and dude, the Living Armor storyline? Has displaced "Kon has two daddies" as my favorite cracked out premise of all time.
Hands down, favorite fic so far? The Resurrection-verse: Resurrection, Reconstruction, and Redemption, Readjustment, Three Times Steve and Tony Had Sex, and the new Hostages to Fortune.
